Procedures covered

FUE Hair Transplant: Follicular units are taken one by one from the back of the head with a micro punch and placed into channels opened in the recipient area. No linear scar.
Sapphire FUE: The same extraction, but the channels are opened with sapphire blades, which allows denser and more precise placement with less tissue trauma.
DHI (Direct Hair Implantation): Grafts are implanted with a Choi implanter pen that opens the channel and places the graft in one move. Often chosen for the hairline or for patients who do not want to shave the whole head.
Female Hair Transplant: For women with a stable, pattern-type hair loss and a healthy donor area. Usually done with DHI so the surrounding hair does not need to be shaved.
Hair Transplant Repair: Correcting an earlier transplant: an unnatural hairline, low density, or an overharvested donor area. Needs a careful assessment of how much donor hair is left.

Volume matters in medicine. A clinic team that performs the same procedure many times a week develops a level of precision an occasional practitioner cannot match, and in hair restoration Turkey has become the place where this concentration of experience sits. The second reason is infrastructure. Who is a good candidate

A good candidate has hair loss that has stabilised (typically men over 25 with male-pattern baldness), a donor area at the back and sides with enough healthy density, and realistic expectations about how much coverage one session can give. Women with pattern-type thinning can also be candidates.

A transplant is usually not the right answer for diffuse, unpatterned thinning across the whole scalp, for active scalp conditions, or for hair loss that has not settled yet. Almost every hair transplant in Turkey is sold as a package: the procedure, one or two nights in a hotel, airport and clinic transfers, medication and an aftercare kit, and follow-up. What moves the price is the number of grafts, the technique (DHI and Sapphire FUE cost more than standard FUE), how involved the doctor is in the operation, and the class of the clinic or hospital.

What to check before you book anywhere

Turkey has an official licensing system, but not every business calling itself a clinic is part of it. Whoever you book with, it is worth asking a few direct questions:

Is the clinic or hospital authorised by the Ministry of Health to treat international patients?
Who performs the extraction and the implantation: a doctor, or technicians only? What does the doctor personally do on the day?
How is the graft count decided, and is it based on your photos or on a sales target?
What happens if a complication appears after you fly home?
Is the price you were quoted the final, all-inclusive price?

Recovery and results: what to expect

Days 1 to 10Scabs form and fall away with the daily washing routine. Some swelling around the forehead in the first days is normal. Sleep with your head raised, avoid sweating, sun and touching the grafts.
Weeks 2 to 8“Shock loss”: most transplanted hairs shed. This is expected and does not mean the grafts are lost. You can usually return to office work within a few days and to sport after 2 to 4 weeks.
Months 3 to 6New hair starts to grow, thin at first and then thicker. Around half of the final density is usually visible by month 6.
Months 12 to 18Final result. Density, texture and the hairline settle. This is when before-and-after photos are meaningful.

Hair transplant in Turkey: frequently asked questions

Is it safe to have a hair transplant in Turkey?

Yes, provided the clinic is authorised by Turkey’s Ministry of Health for international patients and a doctor is involved in your operation. Problems in Turkey almost always trace back to unlicensed operators or clinics chosen on price alone, not to the country’s medical system. Navivera only proposes licensed providers.

How many days do I need to stay in Turkey?

Three to four days is typical: consultation on day one, the operation on day two, bandage removal and first wash on day three, and a flight home on day three or four.

Does a hair transplant hurt?

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure but not pain during the operation. Most patients describe the first two or three days afterwards as tight and tender rather than painful, and manage with the medication provided.

How many grafts will I need?

It depends on the area to cover and your donor density. Sessions of 2,000 to 4,500 grafts are common; larger cases may need two sessions. The number should be decided from your photos by a doctor, never as a sales figure.

Will the result look natural?

A natural result comes from the hairline design and the angle and direction of each graft, which is why the doctor’s involvement matters more than the technique name. Ask to see healed 12-month results of the surgeon you are being offered.

When can I fly home and go back to work?

You can fly the day after the first wash, usually day three or four. Office work is possible within a few days; physically demanding work and sport should wait 2 to 4 weeks.

Can women have a hair transplant in Turkey?

Yes, when the thinning follows a pattern and the donor area is healthy. DHI is often used so the surrounding hair does not need to be shaved. A proper assessment first is essential, because some types of female hair loss are not suitable for transplant.
